Причиной оползней стала сильная эрозия береговой линии. Член приходского совета Малкольм Ньюэлл, который живет в одном из домов на берегу, рассказал BBC, что предупредил чиновников о проблеме еще в 2015 году, но ничего не было сделано.

A further significant section of the cliff in Eastchurch has collapsed leaving one property structurally unsafe and at increased risk of collapse.
