На юге США от урагана «Салли» пострадали прибрежные районы Алабамы и северо-запада Флориды. Там произошли сильные наводнения из-за штормового нагона и проливных дождей, многие дома повреждены ветром и упавшими деревьями. В некоторых населенных пунктах проводятся спасательные операции. Информация о жертвах пока не поступала.
Также возникли проблемы с электроснабжением. По данным сервиса PowerOutage.US, без света остаются около 609 тыс. домов — 291515 в Алабаме, 256082 во Флориде и 61294 в Луизиане.
В настоящее время «Салли» на территории Алабамы ослабел до тропического шторма и движется в северо-восточном направлении со скоростью 11 км/ч. Скорость ветра оценивается в 95 км/ч, информирует Национальный центр США по слежению за ураганами (NHC).
Предупреждение о тропическом шторме действует на северо-западе Флориды. Здесь и в Алабаме может выпасть 25-51 см осадков, в некоторых районах — до 89 см. Сильные дожди также ожидаются в штатах Джорджия, Северная, Южная Каролина и Вирджиния.
