Из-за сильного ветра и сухой погоды вновь ухудшилась пожарная обстановка в австралийском штате Новый Южный Уэльс. По данным на вечер 5 декабря (по местному времени), насчитывалось 117 возгораний, пять из которых представляли опасность для населенных пунктов. Огонь подобрался и к Большому Сиднею. В пригородах мегаполиса эвакуируют население. Пока обходится без сгоревших зданий, ранения получили трое пожарных, сообщает австралийская вещательная корпорация ABC.
Кроме того, в Сиднее серьезно ухудшилась экологическая ситуация. Из-за температурной инверсии некоторые районы города заволокло дымом.
